Some instructions & important points:

1) Stallion Owners - remember, the Stallion nomination deadline for the '08 auction has been extended to July 1, 2008.

2) Stallion owners just need to print off a copy of the Stallion Breeding Agreement, fill it out and sign it, then mail to:

3) Mare Owners just need to contact one of us, pay for their breeding and we will forward both the Mare owner and the Stallion Owner a copy of the completed agreement.

 Mid-America Breeder’s Futurity - Stallion Breeding Agreement

STALLION NOMINATION

We, the owners of the stallion_______________________, registry no.___________________ transfer and assign to the Mid America Breeder’s Futurity (hereinafter, MABF) a Breeding Service for the year of 2___ to the above named stallion.  It is expressly understood by all parties to this agreement that this Breeding Service is assignable only by the MABF Committee pursuant to the terms and conditions being incorporated herin by direct reference thereto.  All parties to this agreement are further bound and agree to all of the following terms and conditions.

1.       That the breeding season in force for this contract begins February 1 and closes June 30, and the mare owner shall be entitled to one return privilege in the following year for the same mare, or substitute mare, with approval of stallion owner.

2.       That should the above named stallion die or become unfit for breeding purposes, or is sold and said mare has not been serviced by said stallion, then any moneys paid by mare owner to the Mid America Breeders Futurity Committee be refunded (as credit in future auctions) upon proper verification of the above from the stallion owner.

3.       That stallion owner will not be responsible for any disease, accident, sickness, and/or death of mare or faol, and similarly, mare owner will not be responsible for any disease, accident, sickness and/or death of stallion.

4.       Mare, in order to qualify for this breeding service, must be halter broken.

5.       The mare shall be in a healthy and sound breeding condition, free from infectious, contagious or transmissible disease. A copy of registration papers must be submitted to the stallion owner.

6.       Board will be charged mare owner by stallion owner at the following rates:

Mares with foals:      $_____________per day.

Mares only:              $_____________per day.

7.       Stallion owners shall diligently try to settle below named mare to the best of their ability, and shall have absolute discretion to determine the best method to breed each mare, including the right to retain a licensed veterinarian to assist therein. The mare owner shall pay for any veterinary expenses incurred thereby.

8.       A Breeder’s Certificate shall be furnished to the mare owner when foal is on the ground and upon payment in full of all board and veterinary expense owed.

9.       The advertised breeding fee for this stallion for 2___, is $______________.

10.   Mare in order to qualify for breeding services, must be registered with the AQHA, APHA or ApHC.

ASSIGNMENT

The MABF, in consideration of one dollar and other good and valuable considerations this date paid, does hereby sell, assign and transfer all rights, title and interests in the above contract to _________________________________. Subject to all the terms and conditions set forth above and incorporated therein by reference. Dated this ______________ day of ________________, 2___.

ACCEPTANCE

In consideration of the above assignment, we hereby assume and agree to make all payments and abide by all the conditions stated in the aforementioned agreement, including all responsibilities in arranging for said breeding service with the Stallion owner.

Mare Owners: On a first-come-first-serve basis, MABF will accept payment for Stallion services. Just mail your payment (denote which Stallion on Payment) to the address above and upon receipt, MABF will complete its assignment and mail a copy of such to both Stallion and Mare Owners. Your payment will be taken as your acceptance signature.
